A geographer by training, Jennifer has an MA in Geography from Oxford University, MSc. in Applied Meteorology and Climatology from the University of Birmingham (UK) and PhD from the University of British Columbia, Canada in 2001. She is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Environment, University of Auckland. As an urban meteorologist, her research focus extends from studying the meteorological controls on urban air pollution to quantifying human exposure and the uptake of air pollutants. Jennifer also has research interests in the field of climate change and urban climate risk. Jennifer has an active interest in understanding more about the ways in which her research is affected by wider social, economic, institutional and political agendas. A Christian since childhood, Jennifer worships with her family at an Anglican Church on Auckland’s North Shore. Jennifer loves to sing and enjoys spending time outdoors especially at the beach and in the wilderness.
